Don't Break the Streak Bios

"DBtS - Hey... Sunday's still part of YOUR weekend. Don't waste it. If you think about it,
we're the best shot you have for one last fun thing before Monday! We promise you won't regret it!"

"...anyone who has seen DBTS in action knows that there really is no better, or funnier, time to be had on a Sunday."
- Harrisburg magazine Feb. 2010

Don't Break the Streak Improv

In May of 2009, Keith Hanshaw began the footwork to put what we now know as "Don't Break the Streak" Improv into action. Auditions were advertised through meetup.com and practice started late this summer. Doc Holliday's has been a great location. The food and drinks are tasty and the staff friendly! The cast has been meeting and working weekly to bring you this awesome show. The best part about it is EVERY show is different. You could come every week and it's a new show each week. The audience actually offers suggestions at the beginning of the show, and our cast creates everything else on the fly (hence the improvisation or Improv as the kids call it). "I know it sounds like I'm just saying this because I'm the producer, but this REALLY IS a great cast and they fit together so well. Every one of them brings something different to the show. I'm extremely proud to call them my cast!" Don't Break the Streak is available for corporate and college shows by contacting keith@dontbreakthestreak.com We can do our 1 1/2 hour club show or we can clean it up a little for ya so we don't piss anyone off with the #@%$ing cuss words!

Keith Hanshaw DBtS Improv
Keith Hanshaw (Producer)

The "acting bug" bit producer Keith Hanshaw w-a-y back in 1976 when he and a group of neighborhood friends would act in super 8 movies that a childhood friend started making! With over 9 neighborhood blockbusters under his belt before the age of 13, Keith always liked being in front of the camera. In 1982 he auditioned for a junior high school production of "45 minutes from Broadway." After that, he was hooked! In 1988-89, Keith reunited with his lifelong friend and spent about a year behind the camera as well as being an actor in a feature length horror movie. Keith has served in the Air Force and was part of the 193d Special Operations Wing. Although the 193d is an Air National Guard unit, Keith worked on active duty for the majority of his 14 year service. His military background included being a weapons instructor, police officer, graphic artists and an instructor for the Northeast Counterdrug Training Center. Keith left the military in 2004 to pursue other business opportunities. Since then, he has opened and operates Hershey Magic, the only magic shop in Central PA, produced over 135 original comedy videos for metacafe and authored several DVD's for national touring comedians.

Marc Faubel (Artistic Director/Performer)

Marc Faubel has been involved in all forms of entertainment for years.A former member of the improv group “Hamsters on Ice” at Westchester Community College, Marc is also a professional magician. His love for theater and acting brought him to this project where he immediately seized the reigns of “directing” this troupe. He also frequently performs Stand-Up Comedy at the Comedy Zone on Thursday nights. He has written one screenplay that has never seen daylight, but hasn’t lost faith in it yet.   Vince KingDBtS Improv
Vince King (Performer)

Vincent King received a nasty bite from the performing bug when he was seven. A souvenir magic trick was all that it took to make Vince want an audience. Since then his close-up and parlor illusions have won him gigs with Hershey Park as-well-as awards from the local ring of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. He has also acted in several roles for Oyster Mill Playhouse. For his first role, he was drafted as a "featured dancer" in The Music Man although he had never danced a step prior to the show. As a student, Vince was Launcelot Gobbo in HACC Theaterworks production of The Merchant of Venice. The lovable, cunning servant was a particular favorite character from his resume. Currently, young Mr. King is a student at Penn State Harrisburg where he majors in Communications. He hopes to stay until he receives his MA in Humanities

DBtS Improv
Shay Faubel (Performer)

When Shay was young, both of his parents were involved in community theaters, prompting his aspiring interest in theater while growing up in New York, and later, Pennsylvania. Don't Break The Streak was brought to Shay's attention by his older brother Marc, who is the Director for DBTS, and his sister Kim, a well loved member of the cast.  Shay enjoys entertaining people, from small groups of coworkers, to large groups of strangers; Thank goodness he has long since dropped his childhood nickname of "the joke killer". Outside of improv, Shay can be spotted darting in and out of the aisles at Giant Food, where he currently works as the Front End Supervisor.

Steve Marroni DBtS Improv
Steve Marroni (Performer)

I'm a stand-up comedian who performs at comedy clubs all around the area. I host the open-mic comedy night at the Harrisburg Comedy Zone. I'm a writer for my full-time job. I got into improv because I enjoy performing and love comedy.

Kim Faubel DBtS Improv
Kim Faubel (Performer)

Kimberly Scott Faubel is a 25 year old New Yorker living in PA for the past 7 years. She's had absolutely NO experience, whatsoever, short of being born into a theatrical family and occasional tipsy karaoke performances...until NOW! At the opportunity to try out for a comedic improv troupe, she JUMPED! She slipped, fell, lost consciousness for a moment, but when she came to, she was ALL ABOUT IT! She loves stand-up and improv and has had the opportunity to see some of her heroes perform live. Most memorably, George Carlin - R.I.P. Other than making a fool of herself on a weekly basis, Kimberly works full time in the West District of an adult retail chain in Central PA and tends to the needs of her favorite boy, Stewie (her cat.) And don't call her Kimberly. She prefers Kim. But for the right amount of money, you can pretty much call her anything.

Marcus Skrinak DBtS Improv
Marcus Skrinak (Performer)

Someone told Marcus Skrinak he was funny once, and he just couldn't seem to let it go. Ever since then, he's been a true fan of all things comedy. He's had experience performing in Central PA with the band “From Dissension”, but most recently traded in his "head-banging" for "side-splitting" in Don't Break the Streak. He figures it still sounds pretty gruesome. Until becoming part of DBTS, his comedy experience was limited to improv games amongst friends and being "that guy" at social events, but he's a natural talent and loves to please a crowd. Really... PLEASE the crowd. If you know what I mean...

DBtS Improv
Ben Ramirez (Performer)

Ben Ramirez had always wondered where his place was in the world.  He would describe himself as being “a bit of an awkward kid.”  Although he did well in school and he had a good many friends, he wasn’t exactly sure where he fit in.  Then he had the opportunity his sophomore year of high school to join a newly started Improv group named Wingin’ It and hasn’t stopped since.  Comedy hasn’t just become a passion for Ben; it has become a way of life.  He has learned to see the humor in everything (which often gets him into trouble with his wife).  Now when he isn’t found doing comedy with DBtS, he is helping to lead a youth group, working as a teller at a local credit union, being a husband, and hitting the books at HACC.  Oh yeah, did we mention he still can’t even get into a bar yet?

Ben is a self-proclaimed superhero, (although no powers have yet surfaced) and considers himself to be able to do anything if he gives it a try.  Ben’s high energy and versatility makes him a great addition to the team.  Also, having come in from a comedic background, he has a lot to bring to the table.  Due to the fact that comedy is Ben’s way of life, he feels more comfortable on stage than anywhere else.  He has always said that a comedian feeds off the energy of the crowd, so he’d rather be making his jokes in front of a packed house than anywhere else.
